A flail is a much more effective weapon than a mace. It is, however, heavier, and harder to use. Only the best and strongest fighters can wield them. These huge men wear more armor than any other Arendian - almost as much as the most heavily armored Lavinian - and this, combined with their stocky frame, makes them into slow but immensely powerful tanks.
